During my research for this project, I found myself deeply inspired by Cecily Brown. I admire how she embraced a form of abstraction that incorporates a grotesque approach, a style often dominated by male artists. Brown's portrayal of sexuality is both bold and intriguing, offering a unique and fearless perspective. While I didn’t intend to take such an intense approach as Brown, I was drawn to exploring similar themes. I respect her feminist commentary through her art and wanted to contribute to that conversation, pushing the subject matter in a slightly different direction while still maintaining a sense of boldness and depth.
